Job Description
Skills Required: Prior experience as a peer advisor or working with peers
Junior or Senior standing Education Minor
3.0 GPA or higher cumulative GPA
?Currently in good academic standing, and expected to maintain good standing for duration of employment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills?Knowledge of campus resources and services
Able to work 10 hours per week during Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters
Ability to work in flexible work environment, and adapt to changes
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Self-motivated

Skills Preferred: Demonstrated ability to utilize sound judgement and problem solving skills
Percentage of Time Duty
80% As assigned, work in Education Department office, including drop-in advising, minor overview, academic planning, enrollment assistance, and advising-related administrative assistance.

Advise students in individual and group settings on UCSC and Education specific policies, requirements, course selection and other student success-related topics.

Assist students with online enrollment including add, drop, swap, waitlists, and troubleshooting enrollment issues for Education courses

Effectively refer students to appropriate campus resources and services.

Advise students about the MA/C program
10% Assisting undergraduate advisor on projects, workshop/events, and advising tasks
5% Trainings and meetings with undergraduate advisor, divisional council, and other campus trainings
5% Outreach and events related to the Education Department
