Skills Required: *Commitment to racial and social justice
*General knowledge of LGBTQIA+ identities and communities
*Must be familiar with social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
*Must be proactive and able to take initiative with projects and tasks assigned
*Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment that has the potential to shift and respond to political and community needs
*Must be able to work independently and cooperatively

Skills Preferred: *Must be familiar with google docs, spreadsheets and forms
*Experience with office/reception work
*Graphic design experience is a plus
*Knowledge of intersecting identities and how they impact gender and sexuality

Percentage of Time Duty

*Plan, coordinate and manage listening sessions and town halls as needed and coordinate action items for follow-up
*Develop structure for connecting with student leaders from Queer and Trans orgs on campus including but not limited to: Theta Pi Sigma, PRISM, Triangle Club at Colleges 9&10 and EQUAL at Oakes College
*Meet with interns from Ethnic Resource Centers to identify areas of coalition building and joint advocacy, then steward this information to the Programs & Events planning team at the Cantú and/or other key partners
*Outreach and coordinate quarterly queer and trans student org check-ins; work with student orgs to identify areas of coalition building and collaboration
*Meet with Cantú professional staff, UCSC students staff and faculty as necessary in times of crisis and hate bias to coordinate Center response

*Establish relationships and meet with representatives from local, regional LGBTQIA+ resources and organizations: such as Pajaro Valley *Pride and the Santa Cruz Diversity Center
*Represent Cantú at various on campus resource fairs, including but not limited to: the Multicultural Career Conference, Kresge Pride, Spring Spotlight, Summer Orientation, Ethnic Resource Center events, Fall OPERS fest, and other events as requested, Santa Cruz Pride
*Work with Program Coordiantor to publish weekly QConnect newsletter
*Serve as student representative and organizer for UC-wide conferences, helping to advertise these opportunities to students at UCSC and coordinate any Cantú-supported trips to various UC-wide conferences as necessary

*Attend mandatory trainings every quarter including, but not limited to the Student Leadership Institute, fall Cantú intern training
*Meet bi-weekly with Program Coordinator (direct supervisor)
*Attend weekly staff meetings
*Attend professional development sessions provided by Cantú Staff or campus partners

*Attend Resource Center quarterly events and programs
*Support with major Cantú Queer Center events, including but not limited to: Trans & Queer Fall Mixer and Rainbow Ceremony
*Help maintain the Cantú clean and organized by completing daily maintenance tasks
*Other duties as assigned
