Job Description

Learn and implement the Department of Athletics & Recreation policies and procedures
Ability to articulate policies and procedures with diplomacy
Excellent verbal skills (on phone and in person)
Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and moving of tables and other equipment 30-50 pounds (with or without accommodation)
Ability to work in deadline-driven situations
Maintain a positive attitude in all stakeholder interactions
Ability to stand for significant periods of time while performing duties
Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

50% Ensures that all facility policies and procedures are followed
Greet all participants of the ATH-REC facilities
Interacts with participants
Verify participant current student ID or ATH-REC Wellness Card
Make regular facility inspection rounds
Enforce facility policies, relay messages and instructions
Perform minor custodial tasks sufficient to industry sanitary standards on a daily basis
Report maintenance and custodial problems through appropriate channels
Perform Conference Event management oversight
Take appropriate action in emergencies
Prepare mandatory shift reports and nightly end of day reports to be routinely/regularly turned into the Associate/Assistant Director of Athletics
Orients participants on general facility operations
In addition, attendants may assist participants with proper set-up on exercise equipment.
30% Assists in daily operation of ATH-REC Facilities
Sells day passes and various seasonal items
Uses Fusion software program to perform various department operational functions
Assist with the opening and closing of the ATH-REC facilities.
Secure all guests’ signature of liability waiver
Perform general clerical duties
Answers incoming calls
Takes and forwards messages to appropriate parties
Maintain inventory of program flyers, brochures, equipment, cleaning supplies, and other office products
10% Assist in the development and implementation of new student employee training. Attend regular ATH-REC Operations Attendant and All-Staff scheduled meetings.
10% Other duties as assigned by the Associate/Assistant Director of Athletics and/or Wellness Center Director
