Job Description
Skills Required: -Adaptable, quick learner with the ability to coordinate venue rental reservations for clients hosting events at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center
-Detail-oriented and able to work independently
-Organized with excellent time management skills
-Exemplary customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
-Positive and professional attitude
-Ability to work weekends, evenings and during school breaks, including summer and winter break
-Willingness to wear business casual attire

Skills Preferred: -Event coordination, retail or restaurant experience
-Familiarity with G-suite, Microsoft Office or other database systems
-Strong writing skills
-Possess a current driver’s license or have reliable transportation

Percentage of Time Duty
75% General venue rental coordination, including responding to phone and email inquiries, scheduling reservations and tours, ensuring client compliance with Seymour Center policies, maintaining database, acting as the Manager-on-Duty for events (serving as the venue point of contact, answering questions and enforcing Seymour Center policies) and maintaining venue spaces and equipment, including light cleaning.
20% Miscellaneous: routine office duties (filing, mailing, copying, errands); development support, including fundraising event assistance; other duties as assigned.
5% Admission desk: Seymour Center admissions desk greeting, providing information, and cashiering.

Special Comments: The position is located off main campus at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center, on the Coastal Science Campus. Metro Bus service to the Coastal Science Campus is available from the main campus, but the position will require a work schedule outside of Metro Bus service hours. Reliable transportation is a must.

This position begins ASAP and requires that you qualify for a work-study award. Successful candidates must complete a fingerprinting/background check.

Weekdays, evenings, weekends and summer, winter and spring breaks.
