Job Description
Skills Required: Must have experience in grounds maintenance that includes but is not limited to plumbing as it pertains to the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems; knowledge of carpentry; must know composting techniques; must be able to read construction blueprints. Able to work outside in all types of weather; able to carry moderate to heavy loads up to 100lbs. with assistance; able to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable and hardworking, self motivated, detail oriented; able to work alone or in groups; able to work with other staff and residents of many different cultures and backgrounds.

Percentage of Time Duty
75% Under minimal direct supervision from Lead groundskeeper the incumbent shall operate machinery such as lawnmower, weedeater, blower, rototiller, etc.; maintain grounds; water plants; dig trenches, ditches and planting holes; prune shrubs and small trees; clear storm drains of debris; blow, sweep, rake and water; maintain dumpster areas; organize recycling and carry cardboard to off-site location; make dump runs as needed for large items.
20% Responsible for pruning, fertilization, renovation of lawns, construction and installation of garden boxes, construction of retaining walls, irrigation repair and trouble shooting, composting, site preparations for new plantings.
5% Other duties as assigned-such as custodial (cleaning, mopping, etc.)
