Skills Required: Ability to maintain confidentiality throughout the elections period as well as after
Ability to actively participate in meetings and follow meeting procedure as stated in the Bylaws
Ability to present information in a clear manner
Ability to conduct outreach to students and coordinate with the ten college commissioners to promote campus participation in a neutral manner
Ability to work with people of all backgrounds
Possess effective communication skills in order to successfully approach people, mediate conflict situations and to enforce Bylaws
Ability to maintain high confidentiality
Ability to remain impartial
Skills Preferred: Experience recording minutes in a meetings
Experience in organizing and planning large scale events across campus
Familiarity with the organization and the University
Familiarity with the SUA Election Bylaws

Percentage of Time Duty
100% NOTE: This job is “By Agreement”. Payment is based on completion of the project(s) described. Payment will be made twice in Spring Quarter. Once halfway through the term of the position and the second time will occur at the end of term of the position.
a.     Shall be responsible for verifying the eligibility of each candidate
with the Student Affairs Campus Elections Commissioner.
b.     The Associate Elections Commissioner shall be responsible for
promoting all elections, including all advertising in the campus
c.     media concerning the elections and commissioners if the positions
have not yet been appointed.
d.     The Associate Elections Commissioner shall be responsible for
taking minutes in all Elections Commission meetings and
e.     Evidentiary Hearings for the purpose of presentation to the
Assembly should candidates challenge the decision(s) of the Elections Commission.
f.     The Associate Elections Commissioner shall work under the direction of the Elections Commissioner and shall perform such duties, which the Elections Commissioner may assign.

SUA is looking for an Associate Elections Commissioner. The candidate should preferably have experience with recording minutes in meetings, organizing and planning events on campus, familiarity with the Student Union Assembly. The candidate is responsible for verifying the eligibility of each candidate with the Student Affairs Campus Election Commissioner, promoting and advertising elections, taking minutes in all Elections Commission meetings, and working alongside the Elections Commissioner.
