Job Description
Skills Required: Ability to work in fast-paced, fun office environment and receive direction from two supervisors. Ability to design computer-based graphics and flyers for events, publications, t-shirts and more. Possess strong organizational and communication skills, be highly self-motivated, and show initiative towards advancing the overall goals of the Programs Office. Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign or Photoshop. Great attention to detail and proofreading skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle phone and walk in interactions with the public. Prior experience with Macintosh computers. Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task effectively with frequent interruptions. 90% of this position is performed in the office on a computer. **Required: ability to continue in this position (as a student employee) academic year 2018-2019.**
Skills Preferred: Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Google Drive. Cowell student or familiarity with Cowell. Understanding and knowledge of event planning.
Percentage of Time Duty
60% Use a Macintosh computer to produce flyers, brochures, newsletters, graphics and other print materials including design and layout. Manage web content, volunteer program, and marketing for events.
30% General office work, including answering phones, checking office email, interfacing with office visitors, preparing forms, photocopying, posting flyers, drafting and updating correspondence, proofreading materials, performing general record-keeping, database management, selling merchandise, ordering supplies, running errands on campus, organizing supplies, and miscellaneous office tasks.
5% Staff and support events at Cowell as needed. Maintain and promote an awareness and sensitivity to issues of diversity and inclusion. Adhere to policies and procedures related to college events, facilities, and residential life.
5% Administrative: Attend weekly office meetings. Meet with supervisors to report progress on projects. Track hours closely and submit timesheet on time.
