Job Description
Skills Required: Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Premier

Advanced proficiency with video production, including video recording and editing

Experience with promoting organizations via physical media, the web, and social media

Social, engaging, goal-oriented individual.

Willingness to learn and share information about the Common Ground Center with the public

Good organizational and time management skills


Excellent communication, in person, by computer, and on the phone

Ability to communicate appropriately with diverse individuals, including staff, alumni, students, and community members

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a professional manner

Ability to think creatively to engage and coordinate volunteers for setup, cleanup, etc.

Strong connection with UC Santa Cruz

Willingness to commit to the position for the 2019-20.
Skills Preferred: Familiarity and past experience with Common Ground Center, and/or community organizations which host public events

Experience in journalism and/or student media

Volunteer coordination experience
Percentage of Time Duty
70% Produce high quality graphics and posters to promote Common Ground Center and its programs, services, and events.

Produce written and video communications, including press releases, e-newsletters, and short videos.

Inform the student body about the purpose, importance, and undertakings of Common Ground Center.

Outreach to the student body so Common Ground can address student needs and wants.
25% Manage our online community site and facebook page

Attend biweekly Common Ground Student Staff meetings.

Carryout any other duties assigned by the Common Ground Executive Committee.
5% Complete a short evaluation after each event about what worked and what could be improved. Summarize your experience from two events and share it with the public through our social media site.
