Job Description
Skills Required: About the Program: The EOP Wellness Program (formally known as the Athletics and Recreational Access Program) is focused on increasing the access of EOP students in participating in recreational and athletics-related activities. The program provides awards for EOP students to increase participation in recreational and athletics-related programs and activities by alleviating costs often associated with recreation and athletics-related programs. This Program will also increase access through campus partnerships to increase exposure to recreational and athletics-related activities for EOP students. This Program was developed through the passing of Measure 68 in the 2017 campus elections.

Under the direct supervision of academic counselor, the EOP Wellness Program Intern will have the following Responsibilities:

1. Proficiency with office productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Calendar, Canva, Constant Contact).
2. Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated, great at time management and consistent in maintaining work hours.
3. Perform basic and varied clerical tasks including keyboarding, data entry, scanning, filing, copying, faxing and operating standard office equipment.
4. Must be able to multitask, set deadlines, and complete projects as assigned on time while also prioritizing appropriately.
5. Public speaking skills required when providing EOP presentations to students, staff, parents, and community groups visiting the UCSC campus. Coordinate and facilitate EOP events, workshops, and other activities as needed.
6. Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other people, offices and programs.
7. Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision.
8. Students must be in very good academic standing (GPA per term and cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater) and maintain that status throughout the academic year.
9. Must be able to attend MANDATORY All-Staff Training during Summer 2018 before the start of the academic school year (Dates: September 4-6, 2019)
10. Must be able to work 10-12 hours a week.
11. See an EOP Academic Counselor twice each quarter.
12. See a Career Center Coach once a quarter.
13. Must maintain a strong commitment to the mission of Educational Opportunity Programs.
Skills Preferred: 1. Experience working with first generation students, and students from various communities and socio-economic backgrounds.
2. Previous experience providing administrative support in an office setting and working on multiple projects at a time with set deadlines.
3. Knowledge and usage of EOP services and Wellness Program.
4. Familiar with the use of Google Drive, Google Sheets and Mail Merge
5. Experience with program management or overseeing budgets
6. Experience using CruzBuy
Percentage of Time Duty
70% Administrative:

1. Duties as assigned under the direct supervision of the EOP Wellness Program Coordinator to help support various program functions
2. Create and update Google Sheets pertaining to the program quarterly
3. Attend to Program email, responding and connecting with students on a regular basis
4. Case management and applicant screening
5. Ensure website is/has updated information and deadlines
6. Data and spreadsheet organization
7. Follow-up with students on program and award agreements
25% Program/Event Coordinating:

1. Support EOP program/units in creation and/or implementation of student programing
2. Co-organize and implement workshops promoting EOP Wellness Program
3. Coordination with vendors, hosts, etc for event logistics
4. Attend planned activities as needed
5% Outreach:

1. Conduct EOP presentations at colleges and student organization meetings to encourage students engagement in the EOP office
2. Attend workshops and table at campus events to promote the program across campus
3. Provide assistance as needed, on projects related to the advising sub-unit, EOP office, or any other EOP related events/programs.
