Job Description
Skills Required: Student assistant to 3D scan/digitize human skeletal material to be prepared for 3D printing. Seeking responsible, detailed-oriented, organized, and careful student who has familiarity with basic photography and osteology. The incumbent must be meticulous and have good computer skills. They must also be comfortable handling skeletal remains.
Skills Preferred: Preferred experience with photogrammetry, 3D scanning, and Agisoft photoscan software.
Percentage of Time Duty
90% Under the general direction of the Anthropology Lab Manager, the incumbent will be trained to produce, label, and file accordingly a high volume of digital 3D scans.
• complete faculty requests to scan materials
• crop as appropriate (if needed)
• ensure quality control of scanning, cropping and modifications; make more advanced image adjustments if needed
• Carefully archive files and prepare for transfer to 3D printers
• Retain documentation and store archival image files in a designated Google Drive
10% Duties related to scanning bones as assigned.
