Job Description
Skills Required: 1. Be able to commit to the position for the full 2019-2020 Academic School Year.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written),ability to work well with others, excellent keyboard skills, knowledge of personal computers, Google Document spreadsheets, and word software programs.
3. Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated,consistent in maintaining work hours, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
4. Must possess excellent leadership skills.
5. Must have excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to recount details, effectively problem-solve/troubleshoot, and be consistent in maintaining a balance between work AND personal commitments.
6. Ability to work quickly without compromising quality, time management, and to prioritize work appropriately.
7. Have prior knowledge of STEM course materials.
8. Applicant must commit to not enroll in more than 15 units if humanities major, 17 units if STEM major, per quarter.
9. Individual must be in good academic standing and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA status throughout the school year.
10. Must see an EOP Academic Counselor twice per quarter and visit the Career Center once per quarter.
11. Must attend Summer Student Staff Training Session and complete mandatory online training in September.
12. Ability to work 20 hours a week during the first 4 weeks of every quarter.
Skills Preferred: 1. Ability to effectively balance extra-curricular activities,and maintain strong academic performance.
2. Accounting, auditing, and/or budgeting experience.
3. Knowledge of EOP and the services the program provides.
4. Knowledge of Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)and/or Science Education and Mentorship in Latino Lives in Academia (SEMILLA) initiatives.
5. Experience working with first generation, and students from different communities and backgrounds.
Percentage of Time Duty
50% 1. Create quarterly applications and deadlines for the STEM Textbook Lending Library.
2. Must be available to work weekends and be committed to the position for the 2019-2020 academic year.
3. Keep track of purchase orders, recharge forms, and receipts.
4. Manage library inventory- online software and physical count.
5. Inform students when applications are open and when books are due.
6. Bundle up to 200 student book orders, keep track of the student requests, and inform students when it is ready for pick-up.
7. Communicate with students and staff in person and via email.
30% 1. Meet monthly with the supervisor of the Textbook Lending Library.
2. Ability to lead new projects related to Science Education and Mentorship in Latino Lives in Academia (SEMILLA) initiatives.
3.Create budget and analyze quarterly statistics of STEM student/book demographics.
4. Collaborate with coworkers on new library procedures, and support the regular Textbook Lending Library Program.
5. Complete /Mental Health/CPR/First Aid/ First Responder certification.
6. Complete FERPA, CANRA, UC Sexual Training, Cyber Security Training, and other university required trainings.
15% 1.Other duties per request of EOP administrators.
2. Assist Administrative Receptionist with front desk coverage when needed.
3. Meet with EOP Academic Adviser twice per quarter.
4. Go to the Career Center once a quarter.
5% 1. All- Staff and Sub-unit Training in September.
2. Maintain the lending library website and keep up to date.
3. Answer general questions from students and staff members regarding the program and have an overall knowledge of EOP and the services provided.

Special Comments: EOP Textbook Lending Library: The Library services are designed to assist students in obtaining required textbooks that due to cost would not otherwise be able to purchase the books on their own.

The Textbook Lending Library STEM Co-Lead will manage and coordinate the services provided to EOP students who qualify for this program.
