Job Description
Skills Required: Possession of a valid license to drive in California and a good driving record.
Ability to safely move furniture and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. (and paper cases weighing 50 lbs.).
Ability to perform independently and with a high degree of initiative, integrity, and good judgment.
Ability to follow directions with special attention to safety issues.
Experience working with, around, for diverse groups of people effectively, cooperatively, and respectfully.
Clear oral and written communication skills.
Ability to identify and sort/organize items based on type and enter items into inventory.
Skills Preferred: Experience sorting and delivering mail/packages using a van.
Warehouse experience.
Sales experience (online postings).
Percentage of Time Duty
75% Perform office, lab, and classroom moves; rearrange furniture and equipment within rooms, removing excess (surplus) items; loading and unloading freight, furniture, and equipment into/out of box truck; deliver/set up rental furniture for events
15% Sort and deliver mail/packages on one of the routes around campus including Scotts Valley. Deliver copier program paper cases.
10% Label and sort incoming warehouse items, specifying items for sale, computer equipment for repair, ewaste sorting, toner for recycling, organize and clean up warehouse/moving equipment and inside of trucks.

Special Comments: We are looking for upbeat, motivated, friendly people to work in the Receiving/Mail department. Moving shifts are Monday through Friday 8-12 and 1-4:30; Mail delivery is 7:45-11:45 and 12:30-2. Number of hires is dependent upon availability of those hired. Please be sure to list relevant experience in your application and be prepared to provide references. Sunday warehouse organizing & mail sorting position is an option for those interested in more hours. Early hours are also a possibility for the right individual. Preference will be given to those with previous moving/mail delivery experience.
