Job Description
Skills Required: Strong customer service skills required. Knowledge of audio-visual equipment (digital audio recorders, digital video and still cameras, video/data projectors; sound systems) sufficient to operate unsupervised. Good mechanical aptitude sufficient to operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of audio-visual and computing equipment. Ability to learn basic operation and installation methods of audio-visual and computing equipment in facility. Communication skills sufficient to explain technical concepts to non-technical people and interact effectively and courteously with faculty, staff, students and off-campus clients. Ability to use web content management systems, social media, and film editing software. Clerical skills including typing, data entry, filing, telephone, and organizational skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical problems and develop appropriate solutions. Ability to transport equipment safely, by exercising appropriate judgment.
Skills Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of Windows and Macintosh computer systems. Knowledge of web streaming technologies.
Experience with audio or video editing software. Experience with AV equipment and video recording. Experience with computer graphics sufficient to produce operating instructions and diagrams.

70% PRESENTATIONS SUPPORT

Under moderate to minimal supervision and in situations of fairly high responsibility, receives job assignments, delivers, sets up, tests, and operates, and monitors closely, a wide variety of media equipment, including, but not limited to, video/data projectors, computers and data display devices, video and digital cameras, digital audio recorders, and sound systems in various locations in support of academic and non-academic presentations. May be sole contact with faculty presenter. Secures facility and media equipment upon completion of job.
15% EQUIPMENT SUPPORT

Under moderate to minimal supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the technical operation of audio-visual, computing, and video-conference equipment, including set up and testing of video-conference, video cameras, microphones, audio mixers and media presentation equipment for lectures, web archived presentations and video productions. Makes sure members of the faculty are comfortable with equipment and have the media tools needed for the presentation. Switches video cameras and audio-visual sources as appropriate. Monitors audio levels, correcting unwanted feedback or echo. Secures facility and materials after presentations. Identifies, records and reports equipment, software and facility problems. Ability to remain calm when there is a technological failure. Troubleshooting abilities will be needed on a regular basis. Performs routine preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. Responsible for good camera shots, clear audio and selection of appropriate images for the viewing audience.
15% EDIT AND UPLOAD CONTENT

Under moderate to minimal supervision and in situations of responsibility, process content and edit video footage; produce, manipulate, and upload content to online. Troubleshoot and correct problems.
